Surveying Devon & Cornwall have announced expansion of their practice, based in Saltash, despite the current doom and gloom that exists in the property market.

Chris Davey has joined the young practice.

Partner John Collinson said: “Whilst there is no doubt that this is the quietest residential market I have seen in my 20 years as a Chartered Surveyor, there are other sectors of the market that are growing and it is only by increasing our staff numbers that we can service our Clients. We have particularly seen an increase in building works and projects and with the looming deadline of 1 October for Commercial Energy Performance Certificates we envisage a busy year ahead.”

Chris, originally from London , is particularly interested in conservation and is currently working with John on numerous projects including introducing sustainable energy into a mixed residential/commercial refurbishment project in Falmouth.

There are essentially three types of surveys to be considered. The Building Survey (previously known as a structural survey), the Homebuyer Survey, and the Basic Valuation.
